Two tours will take place on Wednesday 30 November as the conference will have a half day. These tours must be booked in advance when you register.
Tour #1: Rangitoto Island
1145 hours to approximately 1715 hours
1130 hours guests to meet in Spencer on Byron Hotel lobby. There are no shops on Rangitoto Island. Guests to bring their own lunch and drinks, small back pack, sunscreen, sunhat and good walking shoes. Clean and check your gear for unwanted pests to help keep Rangitoto Island pest-free. Check your gear for pests, eg. rodents, insects. Clean – footwear and gear, removing soil and seeds. Seal – ensure your gear is zipped up (no open bags). When you arrive on a Rangitoto Island (pest-free island), you may be met by a park ranger who will recheck your gear. There are no rubbish bins on Rangitoto Island so please take all of your rubbish with you when your re-board the ferry.
1145 hours guests their tour escort depart on coach bound for the Devonport ferry terminal.
1225 hours travel by ferry from Devonport to Rangitoto Island. About 3 hours free time on Rangitoto Island to explore the island and perhaps walk to the summit and take in the great sea and city views.
Rangitoto Island is a volcanic island in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand. The 5.5 km wide island is an iconic and widely visible landmark of Auckland with its distinctive symmetrical shield volcano cone rising 260 metres (850 ft) high over the Hauraki Gulf. Rangitoto is the most recent and the largest (2311 hectares) of the approximately 50 volcanoes of the Auckland volcanic field. It is separated from the mainland of Auckland’s North Shore by the Rangitoto Channel.
1600 hours ravel by ferry from Rangitoto Island to Devonport. On arrival back in Auckland guests and tour escort will be transported by coach from Devonport ferry terminal to Spencer on Byron Hotel.
$92.00 per person price will include round trip coach transfers (Spencer on Byron Hotel to Devonport ferry terminal to Spencer on Byron Hotel), tour escort, round trip ferry tickets and New Zealand Goods and Services Tax at 15%.
Tour #2: Auckland Museum
1315 hours to approximately 1615 hours
1300 hours guests to meet in Spencer on Byron Hotel lobby. Guests to have had lunch before boarding the coach.

For anyone who is interested the tour guide will conduct a 1 hour guided tour of several areas of the museum. Guests will then have 1 hour free time in the museum. Or guests may like to visit the beautiful Wintergardens or view the art installations in the Domain.
